TATTOO AFTERCARE

Your tattoo is an open wound during the first days and must be treated with clean hands and proper hygiene.

GENERAL CARE

- Wash your hands before touching your tattoo.

-Do not scratch, pick, peel, or rub the tattoo while it is healing.

-Avoid tight clothing over the tattooed area.

-Avoid alcohol for a few days after the session, as it may increase bleeding, swelling, and slow down healing.

-Avoid strenuous workouts for approximately 5 days, especially if the tattoo is in an area that moves a lot or sweats heavily.

-Avoid sauna, swimming pools, baths, lakes, sea water, and direct sun exposure during the healing process.

- Do not go on a sun/beach/pool holiday while the tattoo is healing.

-Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2–3 weeks.

-After the tattoo is fully healed, use moisturizer and SPF 50 sunscreen to protect the tattoo from sun damage.

SECOND SKIN / ADHESIVE FILM

If second skin has been applied, keep it on for 1–4 days, unless your artist has given you different instructions.

Remove it gently under warm running water, preferably in the shower. Pull slowly and carefully, taking your time. Once removed, follow the cleaning routine below.

If the second skin fills with too much fluid, leaks, peels off, causes irritation, or the tattoo becomes exposed, remove it and follow the normal cleaning instructions.

Do not reapply second skin at home unless instructed by your artist.

TATTOO ARMOUR / ABSORBENT PAD

If tattoo armour or an absorbent tattoo pad has been applied, you may usually keep it on overnight.

Remove it the next morning, then wash the tattoo gently with lukewarm water and follow the cleaning routine below.

PLASTIC FILM

If plastic film has been applied, keep it on for approximately 2–3 hours only.

After removing it:

1. Wash the tattoo gently with lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free soap.

2. Pat dry with clean paper towel.

3. Leave the tattoo uncovered and allow it to breathe.

For the first night, you can protect your bed with a clean towel in case the tattoo releases fluid or ink.

Do not wrap the tattoo again unless your artist has instructed you to do so.

The next morning, follow the cleaning routine below.

CLEANING ROUTINE

1. Wash your hands.

2. Wash the tattoo gently with lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free, pH-neutral soap.

3. Pat dry with a clean paper towel.

4. Let the tattoo breathe.

5. Apply a very thin layer of tattoo aftercare cream only when needed

Clean the tattoo morning and evening for approximately 2 weeks.
